This blog has gone dead for quite awhile and the time in between has been filled with many adventures that this digital world will never quite know. I will try to included glimpses of these adventures as past comparisons with the new posts I write.
My current location as of now is in the sunny lands of Christchurch, New Zealand. It's now been a little more than a week here and the weather has proved well to creating a blissful atmosphere of excitement for a new semester filled with shenanigans yet to come. This past week has been filled with many days of orientation, so much so I feel like a compass spinning in circles. Alas though orientation is done and I had my few days of freedom in the summer sun and soon enough classes will start.
I am doing a fall semester (yep that is indeed the other half of the world) at the University of Canterbury in Christchurch. The classes I'll be taking are New Zealand and the Middle East, NZ conflict and pacific politics, and then Environmental Economics. I am excited to see how these classes will pan out and give the big university a try.
I must add in that it is great to be back here in Christchurch. It was the January of '09 that I did a backpacking J-Term class around the south island. I loved it so much and felt like I was being to much of a tourist in a culture I could easily see my self living in. With that in mind I have returned to just spend a semester living here. Indeed it does feel like home already and the realisation that I have been here for only a week is quite shocking. I guess its a good sign for the times to come.
I will try to keep a weekly posting up on this blog and try to remember to put up pictures as well. Although that requires carrying my camera around. And as always lets keep this blog interactive so leave some comments, thoughts, questions, etc!
